District 2 of Little People of America is a volunteer based organization. Everyone in a leadership role has volunteered their time and talent for LPA. There are many ways you can get involved and help out! Having a LPA membership helps financially support the organization in its day to day activities. Attending events at the chapter, district and national levels are great ways to meet new people. Volunteers are always needed at these events!

Dwarfism Awareness
October is Dwarfism Awareness Month, with October 25th as Dwarfism Awareness Day. Wear green, plan an event, and spread awareness!
Exciting news! One of our local members, Nick Sorenson, worked with State Representative, Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, to create and pass HR 497, a bill to spread dwarfism awareness in PA, which states:
“A Resolution recognizing dwarfism with the hope of raising positive awareness about dwarfism and promoting the welfare of people having dwarfism in this Commonwealth.” adopted on 10/29/19.

Nick was inspired to take action following the Zac Brown Band concert skit using a little person. He contacted Rep. Ryan Bizzarro and now there is a PASSED bill about Dwarfism Awareness. Thank you, Nick!
